The App is FREE TO DOWNLOAD and for your child to explore, watch some videos and read a book of their choice. After that, you must become a subscriber to access unlimited books and videos. My App has no sound! What's going on?
iPads use the physical "MUTE" button for two things, muting and rotation lock. Because of this, if you have previously used the button for rotation lock, occasionally the iPad can mute certain applications and allow others to play sound.
The way to resolve this should only take a few seconds.
1. Go to Settings, General and look for USE SIDE SWITCH TO:
2. If it is on LOCK ROTATION, change it to MUTE.
3. Now make sure your SIDE SWITCH (the iPad physical button that has a "red" and "not red" position) is not red.
4. Reopen the Reading Rainbow App and there should be sound.

Quality books from quality publishers. These books are meant to be read by kids; our light digital interactions only enhance the story telling, they DO NOT replace it. We are sorry to see you go, however it’s pretty easy to cancel. Per Apple policy, you have to change or cancel through the App STORE. In the store select VIEW ACCOUNT, then MANAGE App SUBSCIPTIONS. How many books can my child have checked out at any given time?
This is an unlimited subscription service. They can read as many different books in one month as they want. As your child’s customized BACKPACK only holds 5 books at one time, all they need to do is return a book and then add another. What is the parent dashboard and why is it useful?
At ReadingRainbow.com, our companion website, parents can access real-time updates on all their child is reading and learning in Reading Rainbow. Good question! We designed the BACKPACK to operate just as a real one would when your child is out of the house. Books already downloaded to the BACKPACK are portable and can go anywhere and be read anywhere by your child even if they are not connected. Cars, picnics, planes… anywhere. Once connected again, they can look for more books, watch videos and explore the fun islands. Can I upgrade from my monthly subscription to the $29.99 six-month plan?

No! This is a completely new multimedia experience, with hundreds of new books to read, original video field trips and much more.
